“Walking on earth helps us to build a genuine relationship with the nature, at least with the nature of mother earth.”

- His Holiness the Gyalwang Drukpa

His Holiness the Gyalwang Drukpa will be leading a walking pilgrimage between 23rd May and the 3rd July 2009, starting from Manali, Himachal Pradesh, and finishing in Hemis, Ladakh. It will cover a total journey of approximately 400km, crossing about five Himalayan passes, the highest of which are Shikunla and Singgela, both measuring approximately 5,200m above sea level.

The pilgrims will be walking to the holy sites of Chakrasamvara, Avalokiteshvara, Guru Padmasambhava, and the great Siddha Naropa. One of the highlights of the pilgrimage is a pilgrimage to Sani Gompa in Zanskar, where Naropa flew up into the sky with the Six Bone Ornaments offered to him by the Dakinis and Dzungkhul Gompa, where an arrow left by Naropa is still clearly seen.

There is a website at walking.drukpa.com Full details on the pilgrimage are available there, including how to take part physically (for the whole pilgrimage or in smaller sections), or by way of sponsoring the walk.

THE DRAGON YOGIS
A Collection of Selected Biographies and Teachings
of the Drukpa Lineage Masters

OFFER EXPIRES

To be released during the FIRST ANNUAL DRUKPA COUNCIL in April 2009 - The Drukpa or Dragon Lineage has a very long list of enlightened yogis and adepts credited to its name. Many of these enlightened masters left legacies and legendary tales that are still well-known in the far-flung Himalayas where people are naturally closer to their innate nature, yet they remain unknown to most parts of the contemporary world. Although fractions of their life experiences, spiritual songs of enlightenment and teachings from their hearts are quoted in many sacred texts of different schools of Tibetan Buddhism and translated into different languages, very few have made reference to the root of the lineage. The Dragon Yogis is probably one of the first compilations of the abridged history of the Drukpa Lineage, with selected biographies and teachings of the past and present masters of this Yogi Lineage of practice and realization.
