On Buddha Purnima Day (14th May 2014), the Government of India - Department of Posts released a commemorative stamp on the Drukpa Lineage in New Delhi, the capital of India. At 1:00pm on this special day, the stamp was released at all post offices across India. It was an exceptionally joyous occasion, marking a milestone in the lineage's long history of compassionate work for all sentient beings. This is the limited edition. (click image to enlarge view)

Drukpa Pad Yatra Stamp by Sri Lanka Government
Commemorative Drukpa Pad Yatra Stamp

Following on the success of the several eco Pad Yatra, His Holiness the Gyalwang Drukpa was invited by His Excellency Mahinda Rajapaksha, President of Sri Lanka, to undertake the sixth Pad Yatra, which is also the first to be held outside India, on March 06, 2013. The Pad Yatra will take route from South to North, covering a distance of about 500kM and visiting holy istes such as Sr Pada, Kandy, Matale, Dambull, Sigiriya, Polonnaruwa and Anuradhapura before concluding at Jaffna on April 6. About 500 monks and nuns from India, Nepal and Bhutan and lay participants representing 26 other countries accompany the Pad Yatra.
